What people are getting

Two numbers, kept apart on purpose. Gets are GitHub's download counters, remembered once a day. Users are copies that landed on a phone through BrightMarket, which is the only one of the two a mirror cannot inflate.

A "get" is a download of a release asset counted by GitHub — from here, from Obtainium, from the releases page, from anywhere. It counts bytes leaving a release, so a mirror or a crawler reads exactly like a person: one app in this catalogue drew 87 a day for a month from something that was never a phone. A "user" is a copy that landed on a phone through BrightMarket and said so. A mirror cannot inflate that, and it cannot see apps installed any other way either, so the two numbers disagree by design — the app at the top of one list is usually not the app at the top of the other. Nothing on this page comes from tracking anyone: the index writes down where each download counter stood at the end of every day, and the user figures carry no identifier, no device id and no account — by construction, not by policy.
